VLV November week 2

I won a new CTMH paper pack from Aaron Brown.  Thank you, Aaron!  I've enjoyed creating with this lovely paper pack called Sangria.

After making 4, 2-page 12 x 12 pages I decided to start using the scraps for cards.  This is the first one I made using my new Verve stamp set Good Work.

I could write much the same as I did for yesterday's post.  Instead, I will just share the card I made and sketch inspiration.

November VLV Sketch 1

These papers are coming down to the last little scraps, but I have had so much fun using them to create scrapbook pages and cards.  I think my card stash was down to 1 or 2 "thank you" cards, so I am in the processing of replenishing them.

I struggled with what to do with this sketch considering the scraps I was trying to use up.  Adding the flower helped balance some things out.  I've also appreciated all the cards out there that add some sequins.  I'm finally starting to add some to my cards now and then.  After I took the picture I decided to move the string to the side in the sketch.  I like it better, but am not going to take another picture.

Scrap happy cards

I've still got some scraps of paper on my craft table which are left over from some 12x12 pages.  I decided to make up a few cards.  I'd like to get all the scraps used up, or at least down to a point I am comfortable tossing the rest.  I have such a difficult time throwing away scraps I think I might be able to use some day.  Using up a paper kit right away seems to be working nicely for me.  Then I don't have to worry about what to do with scraps.

Thank you for a baking friend.

Our oldest daughter participates in a drama group each week.  There is one young lady that brings baked goods each week, and our daughter wanted to give her a thank you note.  This paper is some that was left over from making the pages found in yesterday's post.  I think the card turned out so cute!

Buying local...

I've always been a big Close to My Heart fan.  The stamps, inks, papers, and embellishments coordinate so well.  Unfortunately I haven't found a local consultant to work with and I don't like buying sight unseen all the time.

I live in an area that is home to a wonderful scrapbook store, so I have begun to visit and purchase my own paper "kits" as I find deals or see papers that catch my eye.  In one recent visit I found some rub-ons on clearance.  They were lovely, so I decided to search the store to find papers that would work with the rub-ons.  This ended up being a great purchase.  I have made 6 scrapbook pages and 3 cards so far.  Two of the cards can be found on yesterday's post.

Another try at this sketch...

I wasn't very happy with the cards I made using this VLV sketch, so I decided to give it another go.  I'm happier with this finished card than I was with the previous two cards I made.

Here is the card I made using some more scraps of paper I had on my craft table.  The scraps are almost used up.

Mojo 422

When I started with this sketch, the only thing I knew I wanted to do was use some scraps I had left over from creating 6 scrapbook pages.  I loved the papers and wanted to see what I could get for cards out of them.  I am pleased with how these cards turned out.  I think the flourishes added so much to the basic card.  Typically I don't take the time to get out my Cricut.  I think I need to look into a flourish die I can use in my Cuddlebug.

Such fun fall colors....

I was able to stop by a local scrapbook store over the weekend, so I picked up some new papers and stickers to create.  I was able to make 6 pages, plus I have leftovers for cards.

VLV Week 5

I am so pleased to have made cards for each of the VLV Sketches for October.  I've also enjoyed seeing all the beautiful cards that have been uploaded.

As I have been looking at rebuilding my card stash, I noticed I didn't have any thank you cards left.  Thus I decided to use an old Verve stamp set to create this thank you card.

VLV Week 4

Here is my take on the VLV week 4 sketch.  I am enjoying using some kraft paper right now.
