VLV October Sketch Week 3

As I was cutting paper for this card, I ended up with just the right amount to make two cards.  Making multiples of one design is a good way of working to build up my card stash again.

Unfortunately I wasn't very happy with the way these cards turned out.  I can't really put my finger on it, but that's okay.  Sometimes things turn out better than I hope for, so it all evens out in the long run.  I'll still use these cards.

Mojo Monday 421

October is full of birthdays in our family.  This card is for our one and only nephew.  He is all boy, and I think this card speaks to his personality.

VLV Sketch October Week 2

I am working to play along with all the VLV Sketches this month.  Here again I utilized some papers I wasn't too fond of, yet I liked the result.

These cards were made with no specific purpose in mind, just hoping to build up my stash of cards.

Gift Set

Over the weekend I had the privilege to attend a ladies conference with a small group of women from our church.  There was an opportunity to bring a $5 gift to exchange, so I created a set of 5 simple cards using various Scripture sentiments from Verve.

VLV October Sketch Week 1

I've been in a card making mood, so I thought I would play along with the VLV Sketch challenges for October.

For this card, I utilized some patterned papers I've had for a long time.  These were ones that were in the "I don't really like pile" to get rid of since they had various background scenes that I never use.  Well, I decided to use the beautiful colors on portions of the pages and was pleased with the end result.

Birthday Boy is 10

October is full of birthdays, so I have lots of opportunities to create cards.  I'm using the Mojo 420 sketch for this card.  I love using sketches to create cards.

Cheap Walmart paper pack...

It was last year at some point that my mom purchased several paper kits she found at Walmart.  She gave a few to me and a few to one of my daughters.  Yesterday I was in a crafty mood, so I decided to pull out this little paper pack and see how much I could get out of it.

The kit came with stickers, cutouts, gems, and 4 pieces of patterned paper.  I just added a few other embellishments and sheets of cardstock.  With this, I was able to get 4 scrapbook pages and three cards.  My daughter was able to get two cards as well.  I'd say that was a good purchase on my mom's part.

Mojo 419 Anniversary

My SIL and BIL will be celebrating 25 years of marriage this weekend with an anniversary party.  I decided to use this weeks Mojo Monday sketch to create their silver anniversary card.  Using some inspiration from a couple other cards posted, I added a couple layers to the sentiment area.

More digital images from Verve

I was able to create 6 cards from the Verve digital download (it's only available through October 15th).  These are the final three cards I created to use to send a little encouragement and love via a coffee shop gift card.

Fall Flavor

I happened to visit the Verve blog and I came across the downloadable images you see on these cards.  I thought they would make great cards for sending a local coffee shop gift card to a friend.  Who wouldn't enjoy a surprise treat on a beautiful fall day?
I also used Mojo Monday Sketch #418.
