Stocking up on Birthday Cards

I am chronically late getting birthday cards out.  Sometimes I even neglect to get them in the mail altogether.  To try to remedy that problem, I am slowly building up my "birthday" card stash.  Here are few I've made in the last few weeks.

These cards use the same basic pattern.  I prefer the burgandy option with added layers.

I'm having fun with washy tape and the washy tape look.
I am about to the very end of these papers.  They sure make elegant looking cards.  I like the pop of purple on this one.

Non-traditional Christmas colors

There is just something about blues that I love at Christmas.  In fact, our tree is decorated with blues and silvers this year.

More traditional Christmas colors...

I often forget about using embossing folders to add detail to cards.  The subtle texture of embossed cardstock adds a nice element to cards that are otherwise quite simple.

I'm just starting to use sequins on my paper crafting projects.  I like the added sparkle without the bulk of gems.

Traditional Christmas Colors

I have such a difficult time getting rid of any scraps of paper even though I have way more paper than I need right now.  In an effort to use up some of these scraps and toss those too tiny pieces, I am making all my Christmas cards with scraps of paper from years past.

This patchwork card is a favorite pattern for using scraps.  The pattern is from one of the CTMH Make it From Your Heart volumes.
I discovered I could cut the stocking from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at 3 1/4 inches and it worked nicely with an older SOTM from 2011.
This tag came from a friend a few years ago...  See, I never throw things out.

Beautiful Funeral

The kids and I recently had the privilege of attending the funeral of a lady that loved the Lord.  Her life was full of evidence of her walk with Christ and she requested that her funeral focus on Christ.  That request was honored.  Her legacy is so beautiful, not because of who she was, but because of who God is and what He had done in her life.

These are the cards I made for three of her eight children.
