Dakota papers and compliments

I have some kids that love horses, so when CTMH came out with these papers I actually bought two paper packs along with the compliments.  They are retired and I had not even cut into them until now.  I've only used paper from the first pack and I still have enough to get another 2-page layout.  This time I needed to be sure to create a more masculine page so I didn't make my boy feel left out.  I can't wait to print the pictures for these pages.

More pages just waiting for pictures... Dreamin'

After I received my recent CTMH order with the Skylark pages and making 3 complete, 2-page layouts that same day, I was in the creating mood.  The only thing I need to add to the pile of pages I made are pictures.  There are lots to choose from, so I am not worried about finding pictures to go on them.

Here at the pages I made using a brand new Dreamin' paper pack and the Dreamin' compliments.  Oh, I think there are a few Lucky embellishments thrown in as well.  It's all from CTMH, but has been retired.  This is what I do...  buy beautiful stuff and then have a difficult time cutting into it.  Not any more!!!

I realize I made a huge mistake a few years ago when I started making scrapbook pages, even putting pictures on them, but not embellishing or taking the time to journal right away. Now that I've started actually using the papers and embellishments I've purchased over the past few years, I have decided I need to remedy my mistake.  Slowly, but surely I am tackling the old pages I've started.  It's fun to look back at pictures of the kids at much younger ages.

Some Lovely Paper

Sometimes there are just papers that stand out on their own and there is little need for embellishment.  That was the case with the paper I used on this card.

There are often times I feel the prompting of the Holy Spirit to send a note of encouragement to someone.  I love that Verve stamps offer so many beautiful Scripture sentiments on stamps.  These are a handful of the cards I've made recently.

Skylark Pages

I recently placed an order for some new CTMH products through Mandy.  FYI--she is great to work with.  Anyway, I loved the look of the new Skylark papers online, but I LOVE them even more in person.  I was so excited to play with the papers, I created three, 2-page layouts the first day I had the papers!  I have some scraps left for a few cards, but that is about it.  I've never gotten into using the compliments for paper packs, but I am glad I ordered them for this paper pack.  It makes putting together layouts a breeze.

Shared Birthday

My brother-in-law and I share a birthday.  I happen to be 10 years older, but he doesn't hold it against me.  He's a hunter, so I that is the route I went with his card this year.  I even got it sent out in time for him to receive it on his birthday this year!

Thinking of You is My Favorite

The sentiment, "Thinking of You," is one you just can't go wrong with when you need a quick card.  Here I've created some girlie cards that can be used for LOTS of reasons.  I just love the butterfly paper and the color combination of the blue/green and gray with a pop of orange.

Girlie Graduates

We seem to have graduation parties to go to each year.  In cleaning up some of the paper scraps on my table I came across these pieces of paper with lots of words appropriate for graduates.  I've got a head start on graduation cards now.

In addition to some birthday cards, I decided to use the "celebrate" sentiment.  This can serve a couple of purposes, so I really should not have any excuses to get cards sent out in time.

Starting to create birthday wishes...

I have a daughter that loves to make cards.  In fact, her grandmother purchases cards from her.  She recently had an order for a large number of birthday cards, so we set up in our little space and got to work.  While she was busy making cards to fill the order grandma had placed, I started to refill my card supply box.  I started with some birthday cards.  My track record for getting birthday cards out on time is not good, so I am hoping this will help.

Mojo Monday 331

It has been a long time since I played along with the Mojo Monday sketch, so when one of my daughters wanted to make some cards I decided to grab the sketch and start there.  My goal with almost all of the cards I make is to use up scraps.  With the two of us pushing out lots of cards these days the scraps are finally starting to get used up!  :)
