Stocking up on Birthday Cards

I am chronically late getting birthday cards out.  Sometimes I even neglect to get them in the mail altogether.  To try to remedy that problem, I am slowly building up my "birthday" card stash.  Here are few I've made in the last few weeks.

These cards use the same basic pattern.  I prefer the burgandy option with added layers.

I'm having fun with washy tape and the washy tape look.
I am about to the very end of these papers.  They sure make elegant looking cards.  I like the pop of purple on this one.

Non-traditional Christmas colors

There is just something about blues that I love at Christmas.  In fact, our tree is decorated with blues and silvers this year.

More traditional Christmas colors...

I often forget about using embossing folders to add detail to cards.  The subtle texture of embossed cardstock adds a nice element to cards that are otherwise quite simple.

I'm just starting to use sequins on my paper crafting projects.  I like the added sparkle without the bulk of gems.

Traditional Christmas Colors

I have such a difficult time getting rid of any scraps of paper even though I have way more paper than I need right now.  In an effort to use up some of these scraps and toss those too tiny pieces, I am making all my Christmas cards with scraps of paper from years past.

This patchwork card is a favorite pattern for using scraps.  The pattern is from one of the CTMH Make it From Your Heart volumes.
I discovered I could cut the stocking from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge at 3 1/4 inches and it worked nicely with an older SOTM from 2011.
This tag came from a friend a few years ago...  See, I never throw things out.

Beautiful Funeral

The kids and I recently had the privilege of attending the funeral of a lady that loved the Lord.  Her life was full of evidence of her walk with Christ and she requested that her funeral focus on Christ.  That request was honored.  Her legacy is so beautiful, not because of who she was, but because of who God is and what He had done in her life.

These are the cards I made for three of her eight children.

Birthday Card Fit for Royalty

Are you a child of God?  If so, did you know you are adopted into royalty.  God is the King of Kings, so as a child of the King you are royalty.  A sweet sister in Christ recently celebrated a birthday, so I made her a card using the royal color purple.

Finally, a card for Mojo Monday again!

I love to use sketches when I make cards as I have very little creativity of my own to begin with.  This week I used the sketch to create a sympathy card for a friend that lost her dad.

October is a busy birthday month for our family.  Here are a couple of cards I made and sent out last month.

Card to bring encouragement

I count it joy to be able to create and send a card with Scripture to someone that is hurting.  This is a recent card I mailed.

Twelve cards, too.

The same night I worked on new artwork for the bathroom, I also created 12 cards.  It was a productive night!

Chalk Art

One night in October I had the opportunity to get together with some friends to do some crafting.  I was able to come home with artwork to put in our bathroom, which has a mosaic fish shower curtain.  I've been looking for some Scripture decor for some time and this fit the bill.

Father's Day

I didn't get a picture of the Father's Day card I made for my FIL, but this is the one I made for my dad.  It's simple, but that works for guys like my dad.

Final graduation cards of 2014

I ended up creating a couple more graduation cards for some late June parties.  While I stuck with the Jeremiah 29:11 verse, which is a Verve stamp, I changed up the layout.  I'm liking how these turned out.

Thinking of You

Can we ever have enough "thinking of you" cards in our stash?  They are good for so many occasions!  I like the color palette of this card.

Feminine take on graduation cards for 2014

In addition to making a couple of masculine graduation cards using the Jeremiah 29:11 Plain Jane stamp from Verve, I made this more feminine card.  It was super simple, but that's just the way my husband prefers cards he gives.

Mojo Monday #348

It's been such a long time since I played along with the Monday sketch!  I hope that with the summer months I can spend more time crafting and playing along with sketches.  For this card, I pulled out some newly organized scraps of paper and my Verve Plain Janes to create a belated birthday card for a friend.  I think this sentiment is a great birthday blessing.  In order to send the card in the mail I needed to keep it relatively flat.

Masculine Graduation Cards 2014 Edition

It's that time of year again--graduations.  We don't have as many graduation parties to attend this year, but I still have a few cards to make.  Thus far, all the graduations except for one are for males.  These are the first two masculine graduation cards I made for this year.  I especially like the brown card.

Homeschool Group Thank You Cards

Our homeschool group meets once a month.  Moms have an opportunity to gather and the kids have classes.  This year I made the end of the school year thank you cards for each of the teachers.  Sweet and simple was the name of the game...
