Lighthouse cards--2 ways

At times I go through phases when making cards where I make at least two of whatever it is I am making at the time.  It's really just as easy to stamp and/or cut two items as opposed to one.  When I originally stamped the lighthouse images, I didn't intend to create one with a masculine feel and the other more feminine.  I'm pleased with how they both turned out.

The feminine card has already been given to a very special elderly lady at church.  She is such an encouragement and regularly sends personal notes to so many.  Gloria is a shining light for Jesus!

Teenage boy birthday

When creating cards, I find it most difficult to determine how to make a card for a teen boy.  At this point, I don't have to make many.  This is the card I sent a special young man for his birthday this year.

Quick Cards

These are a handful of cards that I put together rather quickly as I needed several thank you cards.  I'm not sure why the ink color on two of the cards turned into a color that isn't at all like the original color (CTMH tulip).  I'm guessing it had to do with the paper it was stamped on.  My favorite cards are those with the birds.  I just like how they came together.

Blessing a Sister in Christ

The secretary at our church is such a blessing to so many, several of the ladies have gotten together to contribute to a gift for her "just because."  I had the privilege of making the card for everyone to sign.

December Delights Boutique round 3

And finally the journals with a green or blue base.  I made all of these journals in one day.  The first part of the day, another lady from church and I met and worked on our own crafts for December Delights together.  She is etching designs on various glass pieces.  In the afternoon, we headed our separate ways.  When I got home, I had all the supplies to make the journals readily available.  I decided to sit at the dining room table and get all the journals finished so I wouldn't have to worry about finding another time to work on them.  It took me about 13 hours to make all 20 journals, but I enjoyed the process.  I'm also excited to help raise funds for Paige and her mission trip around the world.

December Delights Boutique round 2

Here are all the journals with a yellow or neutral base.  When I am making journals, I try not to use the same design twice.  It was a bit more difficult this time around, since all the paper I used was left over from a craft the women's ministry did in August.  The largest strips of patterned paper were 4x12 inches.

December Delights Boutique

The women's ministry for our church is hosting the second annual December Delights event early next month.  It's a morning of pampering as women get to sign up for free services such as: massage, foot soak, facial, hair cut, hand treatment, etc.  Last year women were given the opportunity to make a Christmas ornament.  This year, women are going to have an opportunity to shop the "Boutique" for unique, handmade gifts.  All the proceeds from the boutique will be given to a young lady from our church who is on an 11 month mission trip around the world.

I took a break from making journals for the regular monthly meeting in order to make several for this event--20 to be exact.  Today I am sharing the journals with a pink or purple base.

October birthdays

I seem to be behind in all things crafty these days.  The October birthday cards didn't get mailed until November 1st.  Better late than never...

Girls' Sleepover Thank You

While the Dads and Sons were on an overnight camping trip, the Moms and Daughters had a super fun sleepover.  Doing lots of girly things and looking at God's Word, we had a fantastic time.  This is the thank you card I made for our hosts.

My first chipboard album!

Okay, so the pictures are not great, but I really liked the way the album turned out for my first try at a chipboard album.  A couple of weeks ago, the women's ministry at church held a silent auction to raise funds for community outreach.  I'd done a bit of sewing for some projects to donate, but then I decided to make a paper craft project, too.  The day before the event, I put this album together.

July Lady Journals

I'm ahead of schedule and was able to create several feminine journals for the upcoming women's ministry meeting at church this month.  It's so nice to get these made up prior to the night before.  I don't do late nights very well anymore.

Sweet Baily

I am so grateful for the kind and thoughtful heart of a woman named Baily.  She sweetly left a special treat in my mailbox at church one day.  Not only that, she recently did something completely out of her comfort zone to serve the youth of our church.  Baily is not one to draw attention to herself, but I wanted to leave her a note of gratitude in her mailbox at church to let her know I appreciate her.

Adding a couple Thinking of You cards to that Stash.

In addition to a couple of birthday cards, I was able to complete a couple of thinking of you cards using scraps.

Building my birthday card stash.

I've had some time the last couple of days to dig through my scraps of paper and come up with some cards to replenish my supply.  When I say scraps, I mean scraps.  I have small bits of paper arranged in baggies by color.  I'm so bad about throwing anything out, because I just might have a use for it later.

Here are a couple of the birthday cards I was able to put together...

It is amazing what you can come up with using just scraps and some How to Books for inspiration.

There are some people that touch our lives and leave lasting imprints on our hearts.  Diane is one such lady.  I've been thinking of her a lot lately and wanted to send a card to let her know how much she means to our family.  She loves the Lord and it is evident!

I used scraps of paper and a sketch from the Fabulously Artsy blog.

Non-traditional Bridal Shower Card

The girls and I recently attended the bridal shower of their very first baby sitter.  Carole is such a beautiful young woman, inside and out.  When I sat down to create this card, I couldn't help but have a song in my heart for this young woman as she gets ready for a new chapter in her life.  Hence, the little birdie singing...

More feminine journals...

And now for the June feminine journals.
